Escalade brake job actually went smoother than expected for once, small win for the week

After weeks of putting it off and dreading the inevitable wallet drain I finally got the front pads and wear sensors sorted on the 2017 Escalade at a place a buddy recommended near Al Quoz and I have to say it was almost unsettling how straightforward the whole thing was, no up sell on rotors I didn’t need, no mysterious “we found an issue with your flux capacitor” phone call halfway through the day, just a fair price for some decent ceramic pads and the light on the dash finally stopped nagging me every time I start the engine which is a level of peace I haven’t felt in months. I actually stumbled across the shop’s info on a forum thread where someone mentioned they keep a good stock of the weird little GM sensors that always seem to be on backorder everywhere else and figured I’d share the relief because I know there’s a bunch of us driving these big American trucks around Dubai just trying to avoid the dealership tax without ending up at a place that thinks a hammer is a precision instrument, if you’re in the same boat and tired of the squealing you can discover here or just ask around because it’s nice to have a go to that doesn’t make you want to sell the car out of pure frustration every time the brake light flickers on.
