Hurrah! then how many at once do you think you ought to take?

I’m currently growing mint leaves indoors for the first time and the plant is finally looking bushy. However, I would not like to over-harvest it and kill it. Is there a pruning schedule that one follows? I have one of those decoration plant stands that abodelook sells to make it close to the window but I am terrified that I will cut off more and only be left with a stump. Help!
